Discover the Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré

Only 20 minutes walk from our charming establishment, Artist Hôtel, we invite you to explore a space dedicated to the art of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The CCCOD (Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré) is a space for exhibitions, meetings, debates, research and an artistic agency.

A centre at the service of the evolution of contemporary art.

Olivier Debré, a French painter, was the major representative of lyrical abstraction. His monumental art is distinguished by the singular macrocosm of his compositions, by the density of colours and the vibration of movement. Under the influence and encounters of Le Corbusier, Picasso or Nicolas de Staël, Olivier Debré's name symbolizes, through the contemporary CCCOD centre, the characteristics of an art that questions, challenges and shapes the world of tomorrow.

Experienced mediators answer questions from the public. The language of the contemporary art world has gradually codified and this centre aims to provide popular resources so that everyone can understand the challenges and appreciate its beauty. Beauty in art no longer answers academic codes but questions our society. It is through the subtlety, audacity and depth of his language that beauty is defined in contemporary art.

The exhibition area of the nave offers you the possibility of being visited permanently from the outside.

The recent architecture of the building designed by Aires Mateus puts the timeless work of painter Olivier Debré back into an active dialogue with today's artists.

Located in the heart of the historic centre of Tours and on the banks of the Loire, the art centre has a surface area of 4500 m2 and four exhibition spaces: the nave, the white gallery, the black gallery, the small galleries, as well as a café and a bookshop to allow visitors to extend their visit.

We wish you an excellent visit.
