Overall, our stay was pleasant, but our breakfast experience left us with very mixed feelings.

Our son is 8 years old. He has stayed in many hotels and is used to helping himself to the breakfast buffet, while remaining under our supervision.

That morning, he wanted to help himself to the chocolate cereal. The cereal was presented in a large, tall, smooth, and wide-opening plastic container. This type of container is difficult for a child to handle, and it's very easy for a large amount of cereal to spill out all at once. That's exactly what happened: a large quantity of cereal fell to the floor. It was an accident, not a deliberate act. We immediately called a member of staff to clean it up and sincerely apologized.

However, the person in charge of cleaning went directly to our son and said, "The buffet isn't for children." This remark deeply affected him. From that moment on, he no longer dared to serve himself at the buffet.

A few minutes later, as he was simply about to cut a slice of orange with a small knife, the same employee came to us again to tell us that he shouldn't use the knife.

We fully understand that the hotel wants to ensure the safety of children and keep the buffet clean. We respect these rules and were there to supervise our son. What disappointed us wasn't the reminder of the rules, but the way they were communicated. After the first incident, we felt that our child was being watched particularly closely, which made him very uncomfortable.

In a four-star hotel that caters to families, it's normal for young guests to have breakfast at the buffet. It can happen that a child accidentally spills food, especially when the cereal is presented in a container not easily handled by a child. We would have appreciated a more compassionate approach, addressing the parents first rather than making remarks directly to the child.

It's a shame, as this incident deeply affected our son. He, who usually enjoyed choosing his own breakfast, hasn't dared return to the buffet since this experience. We sincerely hope the hotel will train its staff to communicate more respectfully with families and young guests, so that everyone can enjoy their stay in a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.

The hotel is a bit out of the way but quite nicely renovated. The rooms are perfectly adequate, at least for a one-night stay. Breakfast was also decent.
