Guinguettes on the banks of the Loire

The warm weather has arrived and you're looking for a festive summer getaway along the Loire?
Don't miss a stop at one of the many open-air cafés along the royal river, such as those in Rochecorbon or Tours.

With music, snacks, and sunsets, these must-see spots are perfect for partying by the water and feeling like you're on vacation.

Because yes, the guinguette spirit is a place of life and relaxation by the water.

La Guinguette de Rochecorbon

Located just a few kilometers from Tours, La Guinguette de Rochecorbon is open from early May to late September.

Considered one of the largest open-air cafés in France, it offers an exceptional setting on the banks of the Loire.

With themed evenings, cocktail concerts at Le Canotier, and outdoor activities (pétanque, volleyball, ping-pong, etc.), it's the perfect place to relax with family, friends, or as a couple.

You can enjoy grilled meats, salads, and fried fish at La Guinguette's restaurant, or get your groove on on the dance floor.

Just a stone's throw away, you can reach Lulu Parc, a children's amusement park.

La Guinguette de Tours sur Loire

La Guinguette de Tours becomes a must-see for locals and tourists alike from May through September. People come here for brunch or aperitifs with friends.

Located at the foot of the Wilson Bridge, in the heart of Tours, it combines the guinguette spirit with an urban and modern touch from noon to midnight.
A friendly atmosphere is guaranteed, with its wooden tables, deckchairs facing the river, homemade cuisine, and live music. The open-air café is divided into five areas for a drink, a snack, or a dance:
  • The main café;
  • Chez Dupont;
  • The Kids' Bar;
  • Le Foudre;
  • La Plage.
During the day, you can participate in numerous activities such as workshops, children's activities, and barge rides. Once the sun goes down, it's time for music and dancing!

It's not uncommon to spot hot air balloons taking off in the evening.
