With more than fifty parks and gardens, Tours offers many places to stroll, recharge your batteries or simply enjoy a relaxing break. We invite you to discover the 5.8 hectare Botanical Garden, located 10 minutes from our hotel in Tours, L'Artist Hotel.

 

A place between charm and memories...

Since 1843, the Botanical Garden has been an essential place to walk in Tours. It is characterized by its 3,000 plant species. Also, its impressive collection of medicinal plants, spread over 5 hectares, makes it a reference garden in this field.

The « Biodivers » collection greenhouse is always a delight for botany lovers. Three themes are presented: utilitarian tropical plants, South African flora and tropical understory flora. In the new contemporary garden there is also a meditation area under giant herbs. Among the 200 tree species is the Gingko, a tree more than 150 years old and one of the most imposing in Europe with a circumference of 7 metres.

 

A playful space

Animal lovers are not to be outdone with this collection oriented towards exotic species: wallabies, emus, parrots, parakeets, pink flamingos, collection turtles, mini-farms with donkeys, Asian pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and poultry, etc. There is something for everyone!

To complete this family environment, two children's playgrounds have been created with swings, sound games and playgrounds, as well as a picnic area.
