Summer exhibitions at Château de Villandry
Located only 15 km from the Artist Hôtel in Tours, Château de Villandry hosts temporary exhibitions all year round.
Impressive, poetic or surprising, these exhibitions enrich the visitor experience and bring a new and artistic vision of the castle and its remarkable gardens.
Between June and November, three rich and surprising temporary exhibitions will take over the castle and gardens of Villandry:
Exhibition « La renaissance à Villandry » by Jean Bretonfrom June 14 to September 1, 2019
Throughout the exhibition, discover the journey of the lords who built four of the most sumptuous residences in the Loire Valley: Florimond Robertet and his château de Bury, Gilles Berthelot in Azay-le-Rideau, Thomas Bohier in Chenonceau and Jean Le Breton in Villandry.
A 3D model will retrace the architectural evolution of the Château de Villandry from the Middle Ages to the present day.
The sculptures of Gilles de Kerversaufrom June 14 to November 30, 2019
Contemporary art invites itself into Villandry's gardens during the summer. Discover four works by artist Gilles de Kerversau in the Gardens of the Sun. Passionate about animal art, this sculptor now exhibits his works all over the world.
He invites us to question ourselves on the link of mimicry that unites the animal to man... or man to animal.
Marie-Laurence Gaudrat's paintingsfrom September 14 to November 11, 2019
For the second time, this artist comes to Château de Villandry to exhibit her captures of nature, man and life and captures their sensitivity and brilliance.
Through her view of the world and the colours she gives it in her paintings, she offers us compositions whose contemplation offers a moment of fullness, serenity and life.
